Why is the discovered device categorized as 'Unknown' ?
A device is discovered as Unknown due to one of the following reasons:
- Device cannot be pinged.
- Discovery credentials are incorrect.
- SNMP/WMI/CLI not enabled in the device.
- Device type/Sysoid not listed in OpManager's default Device Templates, Custom device templates or Vendor Templates.
To fix the issue, make sure the device name and IP can be pinged, credentials are correct and a new device template is created with the respective device's Sysoid and Add or Rediscover the device.
