Regenerating Gateway Server Access Key

The Gateway Server Access Key helps in securing the connection between gateway servers and the DataSecurity Plus server. This key will automatically be used to set up the initial gateway server installation. However, you can regenerate the key in case it has been exposed.

Follow the steps below to regenerate the access key:

  • Go to Cloud Protection > Configuration > Gateway Servers.
  • On the Configured Gateway Servers page, click Manage under the HEALTH column.
  • On the Manage Gateway Server page, click Regenerate in the Gateway Server Access Key panel.
  • Update the regenerated access key across all gateway servers.

Note - The regenerate action will result in new key regeneration across all configured gateway servers. Update all the gateway servers with their respective regenerated keys to ensure secure connection with the DataSecurity Plus server.

Updating Gateway Server Access Key in gateway servers

Once you've regenerated the key, ensure you update the key in all the gateway servers by following the steps below:

  • In the machine running the gateway server, go to Services.msc and stop the ManageEngine DataSecurity Plus - Cloud Protection Gateway service.
  • Run the Command Prompt as administrator at the <gateway server installation location>\bin (the default location is C:\\Program Files\\ManageEngine\\DataSecurity Plus - Cloud Protection Gateway\\bin) and execute the AccessKeyUpdater.exe file.
  • This will open the Access Key Updater popup. In the window, enter the newly generated key and click OK.
  • Go to Services.msc and start the ManageEngine DataSecurity Plus - Cloud Protection Gateway service. The regenerated access key will now be updated in the gateway server.
